Nei til krig mot Iran!

Slik noen ser det (pga trusler):
I’m a proud American, and I hope there’s many proud Chinese and Russians out there. But we really shouldn’t hate each other. There’s no reason for wives to lose their husbands, children to lose their fathers. War isn’t fair. If we don’t agree with everything, that’s reasonable, we have very different cultures. But I respect all cultures worldwide, and if everyone respected each other’s culture conflicts wouldn’t happen, but it doesn’t work that way, which is way I don’t have my uncle.
WWII was the world war to end all world wars. Given the kind of weapons that are available these days, another world war would probably mean the end of a substantial portion of humanity if not ALL of humanity. Nah, nobody is that stupid, this is not to say it won’t happen, mental illness can trump stupidity if the wrong weapons find themselves in the wrong hands. It’s just not good for business.
If the United States applies increased sanctions, invades, bombs, sends combat troops or drones, or otherwise significantly escalates its intervention in Iran or the region directly or through support of its allies, I pledge to join with others to engage in acts of legal protest and/or nonviolent civil disobedience to prevent or halt the death and destruction which U.S. military actions would cause to the people of Iran, the Middle East, our communities at home, and the planet itself.
Varsleren Daniel Ellsberg:
«The danger of a U.S. or Israeli attack on Iran — either before the election or later — is real and horrifying. It is crucial that we voice our opposition before it is too late.
«I urge you to add your name to my own and to ask your friends to do the same. We’ve been helping to prevent this attack for years, and we must not give up now.»
– Daniel Ellsberg
A decade ago, government lies and media spin brought the disaster of the Iraq war. Don’t let the same thing happen again.
RootsAction will deliver this petition to leaders of the U.S. and Israeli governments, insisting that all diplomatic avenues be pursued and opposing any military attack on Iran.We call upon the leaders of the governments of the United States and Israel to end their threats of launching a military attack on Iran. Instead, leaders should engage in genuine diplomatic dialogue. We unequivocally oppose any attack on Iran.
Nobels fredsprisvinner Shirin Ebadi:
Shirin Ebadi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2003 for her work on behalf of human rights, women’s rights, and children’s rights in Iran. She is a critic of the current Iranian government, and lives in exile. In a message written for RootsAction, Ebadi opposes any attack on Iran.
Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist, author of Persepolis:
“If I have one message to give to the secular American people, it’s that the world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same…
“The secular people, we have no country. We the people — all the secular people who are looking for freedom — we have to keep together. We are international, as they” — the fanatics of all religions — “are international.”
From an interview conducted in 2005
